During the mock-up phase, the historic decoration and color palette revealed during the Paint Investigation will be installed as an example of how the interior will be restored. The mock-up will be located within a contained area of the nave.
This meeting will involve an opportunity to ask questions and help make more concrete decisions regarding the future of the project. All are welcome to a presentation and meeting on Monday, June 6. The meeting will start around 7:00pm in the church.
Bishop Gainer and the College of Consultors of the Diocese of Harrisburg approved the Interior Restoration Project. Praise God!
The paint investigation will reveal large exposures of the original decoration and color in the church during previous eras. By carefully stripping away layers of overpaint, the historic designs will be made visiable for further exploration, research and appreciation. The study will take place in the church May 2-6.
