St. Michael’s Guard is a diocese-wide brotherhood of men serving at the altar of the Lord during mass and other liturgies. We have a local contingent of St. Michael’s Guard at Sacred Heart Basilica, assisting with events such as Sunday masses, 40 hours, Christmas, and Easter. Guardsmen can also serve for the bishop at larger diocesan events, such as solemn vespers and the red mass at the cathedral.
St. Michael’s Guard is seeking courageous adult men 18 years and older to join us and stand guard at the Holy Altar of the Lord. No prior altar serving experience is necessary.
