August 7th, step away from the busy-ness and go on a pilgrimage. Travel to The National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, Maryland, for a “Day of Prayer for World Peace through Conversion.” This annual pilgrimage provides a time and a place of encounter with our Blessed Mother Mary and our Lord Jesus Christ. Arrive at the Shrine between 9:00am and 10:00am and spend the morning hours in prayer on your own or with your small group. Diocesan Priests will be available to hear your confession between 9:30am and 11:00am in the vicinity of Saint Mary’s Chapel on the Hill. The pilgrim’s Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm, followed by a Eucharistic Holy Hour with spiritual reflection, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and Benediction. The gift of a plenary indulgence can be gained on this pilgrimage. Please bring your own lunch and something to share.
